The Johnsons have finished the rodeo year in style and with their usual fair share of excitement. The last two months of the rodeo season were full of excitement – just like the previous months we’ve covered of the Johnson’s adventures on the road.

Sherrylynn won the All American Finals in Waco, Texas! The rodeo finished its nine-day run on October 15th. The All American Pro Rodeo in Waco is the final event for the All American Pro Rodeo Series.

Only the top thirty in the All American standings who have also competed at a minimum of thirty rodeos qualify to compete in Waco. Competitors go through a series of trials to earn the chance to compete in the Finals.

Sherrylynn was the final qualifier from her pool and the last in the progressive round. Sherrylynn and JT advanced all the way to the finals and then had their best run of the week at 16.13 seconds, to win.

A few weeks later in Kansas City on the way to the out gate the horse Sherrylynn was riding zigged left and Sherrylynn zagged right. All that zigging and zagging left Sherrylynn on the ground with a dislocated shoulder and thumb. Readers, that have been following our blogs about Mike and Sherrylynn through the year, know that the rodeo circuit is not for the weak of heart … or body.

With her arm taped to her side, Sherrylynn and JT got within a tenth of the money. JT took good care of his one-armed rider and Mike and BamBam performed well against a big and strong calf. Sherrylynn and Mike didn’t take home winner’s money but both were very proud of how well JT and BamBam did.

November 10th – 12th was the Texas Stampede at the Allen Event Center in Allen, Texas. The Texas Stampede has a nine-year history and featured top riders. Mike and Sherrylynn thought it was a fun place to be and had a great set up for a rodeo. Sherrylynn finished 4th in average.

JT has headed back home and is enjoying some time off. Due to time off for injuries JT will not be heading to Las Vegas this year for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. If you’re planning on attending NFR this year stop by one of the Spalding Lab’s booths either at the Cowboy Marketplace in Mandalay Bay, December 1st -10th or at the NRS Experience at the MGM from December 4th – 10th. The Johnsons will be at both booths at scheduled times signing autographs.

The Johnsons are holding a clinic in Temecula, California on December 11th and will cover calf roping and barrel racing. You can find their 2012 clinics listed on their website at www.johnsonsportline.com. Check out their Facebook Fan Page too for the latest news.
