Mike Johnson recently finished up a run of rodeos in Tucson, Arizona and San Angelo, Texas with his other traveling partner Murray Pole.  Like all rodeos in Tie Down Roping, the end result if you place or not has a lot to do with what you draw. Mike and Murray were not on the good end of the draw at these rodeos.

Despite some recent poor draws Mike is currently 6th in the world standings for tie down roping.

Instead of going with Mike to the La Fiesta de los Vaqueros in Tucson, Arizona Sherrylynn decided to head to a Florida run with Scooby. She called her friend Robin Montague and convinced her to go along for the journey. They placed in two out of three rodeos. The main purpose of the trip for Sherrylynn was to compete with Scooby and get their timing as a team to be competitive.

At the end of February Mike will fly from Texas and Sherrylynn will fly from Florida, meet up in Denver and rent a car. They are heading to Riverton, Wyoming and the central Wyoming College for a two-day clinic and a banquet, where they will speak.

This photo is of a small town in Alabama where the Johnsons stopped over. It looks like someone did some late night decorating!

Sherrylynn says, “Southern living sure makes you feel at home.” This photo is of an old Alabama courthouse. This town is where during the Civil War the fighters marched through and didn’t stop, sparing the town. “Fortunately” the town had some type of widespread illness and the fighters didn’t stop because they didn’t want to get sick.
