Maureen Doherty is the owner of Black Horse Art School and Studio and she has been a Fly Predator customer for the last several years. Maureen instructs art classes to children of all ages as well as running a series of camps. Her most popular camp is the Summer Art & Horse Camp.About Summer Art & Horse CampEach day at the Summer Art & Horse Camp students explore a different art medium and create a beautiful piece of quality artwork that will be professionally finished and ready to hang. The paintings are on gallery style canvases, wood, and plexiglass using acrylics and many mixed mediums. Campers enjoy a daily lunch break around the campfire. After lunch is horse time where students learn natural horsemanship techniques. They learn the how and why a horse thinks the way they do. This lays the foundation for a better lifelong relationship with horses. Students groom the horses together, learn horse care, how to properly lead a horse, and how to keep safe on the ground. Students then learn natural balance riding and how you to communicate to horses through body language. The kids will learn and try a variety of riding styles. At the end the week long camp there is a riding demonstration and art show. Background Maureen DohertyBefore becoming an urban rancher and mother of three, Maureen worked for many years as a commercial artist.
